Fight: A Prologue

There was a man. Or he thought he was a man, or rather he thought he was a man after he regained the capacity to think. He awoke, and found himself in a strange position. He seemed to be in a wide, open room. The room was too wide and to broad to see any walls, so he wasn't sure he was in a room. Everything was a pleasant cool white, and the floor he was laying on and the air he was breathing had pleasantly cool feel. He wasn't too sure where exactly he was. He wasn't exactly too sure that he was. In fact, he wasn't exactly too sure of anything. He tried to remember something, anything. The only thing that came up was the pleasantly cool feel

Fight 2: GabrielThe ground was cold, and a bit of wool and the tanned hide of a spring buck tied to some sticks did little to change that. Being asleep in the encampment was barely so as not only did the cold bite at your back as you lay, but the muttering and various snorts and snores of the multitude of soldiers around you did little to lull one into dreams. Gabriel felt a familiar gnaw at his gut, one he had felt once a day as far back as he could remember. He may have been forced to sleep with his men, but he wasn't about to use the same latrine.

Fight 1: JacobJacob flicked up his wrist lazily and the watch in turn lazily flicked up into his line of sight. He already knew the time. Five twenty-two. I'm losin' it in the regular fashion that I usually do in the summer. No strange moments of lucidity this year. If you magically know what that means, you know that's either a really good or a really bad thing. Things are different. Then again, the people are different. Me and the people I know, for one.
